Cycle prices in Pakistan vary a lot. A basic local steel cycle and a branded carbon road bike are both called a "cycle", but they are very different machines. This guide explains what each type of bicycle costs, what pushes the price up or down, and how to get the best value for your money.
Cycle prices by type (2026)
These are the current prices of branded bikes at Cycle Yard:
| Type of cycle | Best for | Price at Cycle Yard |
|---|---|---|
| Road bike | Speed, fitness, long rides on paved roads | Rs 95,000 – Rs 160,000 |
| Mountain bike (MTB) | Broken roads, trails, hills | Rs 35,000 – Rs 40,000 |
| Hybrid / city bike | Daily commute, college, city fitness | Rs 55,000 – Rs 80,000 |
| Kids cycle | Children aged 7–12 | Rs 28,000 – Rs 38,000 |
| Parts & accessories | Upgrades, touring, repairs | Rs 15,000 – Rs 25,000 |
What changes the price of a cycle?
- Frame material. Steel is heavy and cheap. Aluminium is lighter and does not rust. Carbon is the lightest and the most expensive.
- Gears (groupset). Shimano and SRAM gears shift smoothly and last for years. Entry groups like Shimano Claris and Sora cost less than Tiagra or 105.
- Brakes. Disc brakes, especially hydraulic disc brakes, stop much better in rain and dust than basic rim brakes, and they raise the price.
- Suspension. A good suspension fork (for example SR Suntour with lock-out) adds comfort on broken roads and adds cost.
- Brand. Trek, Giant, Specialized, Scott and Felt use better geometry and parts, and their bikes hold their value when you sell them later.
- New or used. A used branded bike in good condition often costs less than a new unbranded one and rides much better.
Branded used bike or cheap new bike?
For most riders in Pakistan a branded used bike is the smarter buy. For example, a Trek 3500 with SRAM 24-speed gears and Shimano hydraulic disc brakes costs Rs 35,000. A new unbranded cycle at the same price usually has a heavy steel frame, basic gears and weak brakes. The catch with used bikes is condition, so read our used cycle buying checklist before you buy from anyone.
How to get the best value
- Decide where you will ride most: smooth roads (road or hybrid bike) or broken roads and trails (mountain bike). Our guide road vs mountain vs hybrid helps.
- Choose the right size for your height using the size guide. A cheap bike that fits is better than an expensive bike that does not.
- Spend on brakes and gears before looks.
- Ask for real photos and the true condition. Every Cycle Yard listing shows both.
- Buy from a seller with a clear return policy. Cycle Yard gives a 1-week return or money-back guarantee.
